As you know, we are trying to get all of our members on the same renewal month, July. Starting in 2018, we will be pro-rating the months left until July 2018 and then adding the yearly membership fee to that which will take everyone to July 2019. This will be explained in the letter that is emailed to each person who renews. We thank you for your understanding.
If you have legitimate questions, please contact Angela Shafranski @ firstname.lastname@example.org.
We would like to thank our members that renewed and the ones who became new members in January, 2018.
Darlene Brown, Betty and Wayne Fulford, Vicki Gill, Deborah Hamer, David McGuire, Maureen McHenry, Cass Roberts and Rachel Schaffer
We couldn’t do it without you!
Our February meeting will be held at 6:00 pm at Arts on Main on February 13th.
After a brief business meeting, colored pencil artist Ron Shepard will show us the difference between the pencils he uses and demonstrate how to get the best results from each type of pencil. Ron will also have several types of paper that can be used with the colored pencils. He’ll work with us on blending colors and show how to use substances like Turpenoid when blending.
For inspirational purposes, he will set up a display of his paintings that will show us there are different ways of creating art with colored pencils.
Please save the date and join us for a fun filled night.
See you there!
Dear GCAG Members,
We are off to a great start with much excitement for the coming year of 2018. We will be spring boarding off the incredible work of our past president Susan Walker, our dedicated board members/committees and talented members. It is with this talent in mind that GCAG will continue to develop and stay focused on our mission.
GCAG’s calendar remains strong with seven shows along with our senior student flagship fundraiser. The workshop calendar is taking shape with an emphasis on promotion and community outreach. The gift shop will take on new light with Gastonia’s downtown promise of urban redevelopment and new restaurants. Our resident artists continue to add presence to our community and many have embarked on community art festivals and shows.
As many of you know, this year will be our most pivotal with the sale of the Arts on Main building. As we prepare to move forward, it will be even more important to stay mindful of this organization being an all-volunteer organization. A volunteer organization whose members are inspiring stewards of cultivating art in and around our community. That is something all of us can be proud of. Happy New Year to us, one and all!!
