All materials will be supplied in the cost of the class.
Student will learn:
Various properties of color pencils, difference between pencils, and cheap vs expensive pencils
Learn about the different kinds of papers to be used with color pencils
Tools that work best with Color Pencil renderings
How to use a light box and/or window and/or transfer paper for transferring your work onto paper
How to blend pencils to render different colors using a limited palette
How to burnish with a blender, another colored pencil, or various solvents
Students will finish a Sunflower Composition with Leaves on a Bristol Smooth Surface learning various
hues and values of greens, yellow/orange blending, shadow work, and under leaf and vein work.
Ron Shepard resides with his wife, Sharon, of 50 years in Gastonia. Ron has crafted his skills in Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, and Color Pencils. He is a member of Gaston County Art Guild and The Southern Arts Society, Inc., and has served as an officer in each organization. He has taught many art classes over the last three years. He teaches beginner artists because he wants to share his love for art with those who want to try art out as a hobby or want to become serious artists. He has sold many of his works, has placed third in a judged show, and continues to hone his craft.
