Do not miss out on your chance to participate in a Fine Arts show in downtown Gastonia. Please respond by September 1 to reserve your spot at the lowest rates available-- $80 for an 8x8 space or $30 for a 4x6 space. After September 1, rates for an 8x8 space will increase to $95 and a 4x6 space will increase to $35
The Catawba River Artisans, in partnership with Gaston County Art Guild, would like to extend an invitation to local artisans to participate in a Veteran’s Day Art & Music Fest on November 10th from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and November 11th from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. This Fine Arts show will be held at Arts on Main, 212 W. Main Ave., Gastonia, NC. Resident artists are invited to open their studios and participate in this event. Resident artist fees are a one time fee of $20 for both days. For all other artists the following rates will apply to all applications received through September 1. The cost is $80 for an 8x8 space or $30 for a 4 x 6 space. Resident artists please note that you also have the alternative of renting a space if you choose not to sell from your studio. Artists my rent more than one space if desired. After September 1, rates increase to $95 and $35 respectively. In order to offer the shopping public a variety of quality art, all applications for vendor space will be juried into the show, by designated CRA members, based on quality and type of art. The jury process will also take into consideration the timely receipt of applications.

All artists 18 years and older living in North Carolina & South Carolina may submit up to three entries. Photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, glass, ceramic, jewelry, printmaking and fiber are eligible. All work must be original, completed within the last 2 years, and NOT previously exhibited at a Gaston County Art Guild show. The juror will select the art to be exhibited and choose the awards. Artists will be notified of acceptance of their work. Entry fee is non-refundable.

Show Take in: July 21st - 22nd 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
1) An original piece of art created from repurposed or recycled materials.
Examples include: using pieces of broken jewelry to make something new, a mosaic design made from broken ceramics, scraps to make a collage
2) The artwork has a message theme of Heal the Earth. Topics could include the environment, endangerment of wildlife, race relations, etc. The artist is to make the viewer aware of a condition or circumstance of our Earth or environment to bring to consciousness the issue.
Examples include: Paulo Grangeon’s 1800 papier mache panda bears traveling exhibition drawing attention that there are only 1800 panda bears that exist in the wild; Norman Rockwell’s painting, The Golden Rule; Peace Poles, etc.
Artists 18 years and older are eligible to submit two (2) pieces of work. All work should be original to the artist, completed within the last two (2) years and not exhibited at a previous GCAC show.
Cost: $10 for up to 2 pieces for Studio Residents, $20 for Non-resident Guild Members, $30 for Non-Guild Members.
The Gaston County Art Guild / Arts on Main

Theme: Capturing that ‘Moment in Time’ that speaks to your creative soul.
Eligibility: All artists eighteen years and older living in Gaston, Catawba, Cleveland, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, and York Counties may submit up to three (3) entries, one (1) per category, upon payment of a non-refundable entry fee. (Guild members, $20; non-members, $30).
The Kessell History Center and Loray Mill invite local artists to show works depicting southern mills and mill life. The show begins June 22nd thru July 13th.
All works must be submitted by Thursday, June 15, 11 am-4pm, Tues, June 20, 11 am– 4 pm to the Kessell History Center at Loray Mill (300 S Firestone St, Gastonia) and must remain until exhibit ends. “A Natural View” will feature art that focuses on nature and may include original works of plants, animals or natural landscape native to North America. The emphasis of this exhibit is NATURE. Please restrict work to these guidelines.
All artists eighteen years and older living in Gaston, Cleveland, Lincoln, Mecklenburg and York Counties may submit up to three entries upon the payment of a non-refundable entry fee. (Guild members, $20; non-members, $30).

March 31st and April 1st : 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Pick up declined artwork:
April 5th: 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
