Artist Lou Jones
Lou Jones was born and raised on a farm near Cherryville, N. C.
There she developed a life-long love of nature, animals and art.
In 1966 she graduated from Appalachian College with a degree in Library Science and spent 27 years as a children’s librarian in the public school system.
Someone once told her that if you want to know what you should do in your spare time, think back to what gave you joy in your childhood and return to it. Therefore, since retiring in 1996, she has returned to the art she loved as a child and has taken classes in drawing, oils, acrylics and watercolors.
She believes a good painting is one that is not only technically correct but also provides both the viewer and the artist with an emotional tug at the heart.
Lou is married and is the mother of two children and grandmother of three.
