Artist Renee Clemmer
Renee was born and reared in Gaston County,
North Carolina. She is the mother of two and grandmother of four.
Having a long time interest in pottery she took lessons at a local pottery shop and Gaston College. She was hooked on clay.
After working at a local pottery shop and retiring from her job as a teacher's assistant she continued to pursue her interest in pottery. She converted her father's woodworking shop into a studio named the Clay House. Now her free time is spent making functional and decorative pottery.
In 2006 Renee was awarded an Honorable Mention at the "Visual Harvest" art exhibit sponsored by the Gaston County Art Guild. This year her work won third place at the Southern Arts Society show "I Am Woman".
