Friday night was the opening reception for A Visual Harvest @ Arts on Main. This was a Juried Art exhibit Judged by Kate Worm. A Visual Harvest runs from OCTOBER 19 to November 19.
"Judging this show was a difficult task because of the huge amount of worthy work. I enjoyed seeing the broad range of media including several colored pencil pieces reminding me of the deep colors that pencil can produce. All of the photographs were lovely and I so much enjoyed the two trilogies by the married couple. They must be on the move pursuing that perfect image every day. I think the very large abstract paintings are an important contrast to the smaller realistic pieces. I like the range of abstraction in general and I'm remembering the painting under glass with symbols floating on an ochre colored field.
Come one, come all...

Our next meeting will be held at AOM on October 11th at 6:30pm. Our speaker will be Stacey Pilkington-Smith. Stacey is a Mixed Media artist, Instructor, and owner of Gallery 27. Her presentation will be about Art Journals.
An art journal can be a record of your daily thoughts, a travel journal, an exercise or diet diary, a dream journal, a place where you jot down your goals or to-do lists, or… well, almost any record that you’d like to keep in a book or notebook.
They become “art journals” when you add any kind of illustration or embellishment to the pages.
Artists may bring their own sketchbooks. Each participant will leave with a list of journal prompts.
